I can't speak highly enough about professor Khalaf, words can't describe how much we truly appreciate his advice, commitment and support. I had exceptional experience at his hands having had myomectomy with 22 fibroids removed safely without complications. I had a long journey at different hospitals but every Gynecologist I saw was not completely confident to do the surgery, they all think it will be risky but the first day I saw Professor Khalaf, He decided to do it with out any hesitation and with great confidence. Prof Khalaf is professional but also wonderful human being. Thank you prof Khalaf and honesty can't recommend anyone more highly.

We were private patients of Professor Khalaf undergoing IVF treatment and we very much appreciated his 'available at all hours' approach to our care. We appreciated that he did not give us false hopes (we are in the 41-42yrs bracket) and liked very much his manner which was always kind and positive without being sentimental. He patiently responded to our often panicky calls and texts, and put our minds at ease as he guided us through three rounds (the third of which was successful). His advice felt authoritative which was reassuring as there was far too much often contrary information to read online and he ultimately made us realise we were paying a specialist for an important reason and that self-diagnosis was self-defeating and added to the stress. We enjoyed his humour and although we are delighted to have conceived, we are even a bit sad not to see Prof Khalaf anymore. Shukran to you and your team for everything Professor Khalaf! Warmest wishes to the ACU and all the dedicated embryologists also.

We started our ivf Journey 3 years ago with myself undergoing a myomectomy to remove fibroids before the ivf could start. The first 2 embryo transfers unfortunately were not successful, we had one embryo left so we decided to take time out and recuperate before finally going for the last embryo transfer. We finally bit the bullet and decided to try again in April21.And thank God when we arrived for our (supposed to be telephone conversation that was not communicated by front desk), Dr Yakoub Khalaf walked us right through the corridor and decided that since we were already there we could get started right away... so it was meant to be. When we started to talk, the Dr addressed all our concerns and made us feel like we had made the right decision. We love the way he light-heartedly talks about life in getting to know us, his commitment to our success and the fact that he does not waste time. I actually found out then that he was head consultant/surgeon during my operation and I almost gave him a hug if it wasn't for Covid19.(After that operation I was not in any pain at all and I had the morphine removed. Even though I had so many fibroids removed, I had no pain at all and my tummy went back flat..it was an exceptional experience I have to say...and if the Catheter did not have to be changed, I would not have realised that I had one inserted) Dr Yakoub is so flexible despite the fact that they are so busy. We could send him a text or call him and each time he never hesitated to come to our rescue whether it was a prescription or a question about something were not sure about. He moved forward as if this was the embryo that would work and so we moved along (a bit worried on the inside) but seeing the Dr's belief in how he moved quickly with the scans, medication etc also made us believe. He said to us many times that there was no time wastage because after all we knew what we were after. Everything moved fast and seamless and we were always the ones who looked surprised. He does indeed put the patient first and takes pride in what he does. We were in such capable hands from the beginning and are now coming to 13 weeks pregnant. Such kindness and humility in a person so senior was so humbling.

Yacoub was our consultant throughout our IVF journey. I always felt in good hands and well looked after. On occasion due to how my cycle dates fell I would need to text or call him over the weekend and it was never a problem; he was always happy to take the time to let me know what the next steps were. Yacoub has a reassuring light heartedness which helped to put me at ease as IVF can be such a rollercoaster. We have just had a scan to see our baby at 7 weeks and I can't believe it! Thank you for everything Yacoub!!!

We have the most amazing experience undergoing an IVF treatment at Guys with the care of Dr Khalaf. He was very professional but also incredibly human. He listened to our concerns every step of the way, addressing them with kindness and professionalism. We felt in the best hands from day one. We saw the doctor adjust the treatment when it was needed and make prompt decisions that ultimately made our little miracle possible. Thank you Professor Khalaf.
